Emissions scandal, Mercedes-Benz Recall 774 Thousand Cars

Full emissions diesel engine was still crowded. After VW Group; Daimler Group, maker of Mercedes-Benz, is now bumped into alleged diesel emission scandal. This was revealed by the German government, directly through their transport agency KBA.

As quoted from Bloomberg, KBA invented the strange software in the Mercedes-Benz diesel engine. The device, as found in VW, is designed to trick emissions testing devices and deliver regulatory results, according to the KBA.
The German government is certainly furious with this incident. Daimler himself did not deny the existence of the software in their machines, but insisted the tools were legal. Several meetings between the two, also failed to provide clarity. As a result the German government decided, Daimler must recall 774 thousand Mercedes diesel standard Euro 6 emissions, which overdone circulating in Europe. They must update the engine control unit (ECU).
Itupun Daimler seems to be given a leniency, because in fact they have sold more than one million diesel cars in the blue continent. The cars that must recall are Mercedes-Benz C Class , GLC, and Vito (mini van).
This recall is also the best middle ground for Daimler. As long as they are willing to do so, there is no penalty. If you recall, VW Group was rewarded with a fine of over US $ 30 million. Not including the compensation for consumers who feel cheated, various lawsuits, until the rotation in their management ranks.
For information, the software in the ECU in question can detect if the car is being tested for emissions and runs the engine in such a way as to emission accordingly. This tool was revealed late 2014, when two Americans to test the VW Passat diesel emissions. Testing is done in real circumstances and they wonder why the result is far from the manufacturer claimed.
Since then, the cheating of emissions test conducted by European brands seems to never stop being revealed. Even Japanese manufacturers like Mitsubishi and Suzuki do it too.
